The Canadian Association of Security Professionals, (CA🍁SP) is a Canada-wide association committed to professionalizing the security industry for the betterment of security professionals, security employers, their clients, and everyone in Canada.

Security professional duties include security posts, security patrols, alarm response, loss prevention, executive protection, and private investigation.

The roles and responsibilities of security professionals and private investigators is expanding and increasingly complicated. Training is critical for security professionals to effectively detect developing situations and safely manage them. Training is critical for private investigators to surveil and detect deception.

CA🍁SP is focused on providing high quality training and industry information to everyone involved in the security industry.

Security professionals and private investigators: CA🍁SP provides information on the security industry, basic training for new security professionals and investigators, and an array of specialty and in-service training to expand knowledge and skills, and to keep current with security best-practices.

Security employers and trainers: CA🍁SP can provide training, list or host courses you have created, and/or create custom courses for your security professionals. 

Clients: CA🍁SP provides information on the security industry, provides information on courses available to expand and improve the knowledge and skills of security professionals you hire. We can create custom courses for all your security professionals. 

Public: most CA🍁SP courses are available to the public. Some courses are designed for civilian authority figures: teachers, managers, medical professionals, parents, etc. Learn aspects of law, de-escalation, situational awareness, self-defense, and of a myriad of other knowledge and skills that prepare you to detect, avoid, and engage in situations.

CA🍁SP training improves your communication skills, situational awareness, and ability to manage difficult situations.

 

CA🍁SP Charter

The Canadian Association of Security Professionals strives to increase the profile of security professionals and the security industry in society. Security professionals are a deterrent to inappropriate and illegal behavior. By providing quality training and promoting the use of security professionals to safeguard people, property, and information, organizations and patrons have skilled professionals available to manage situations. 

CA🍁SP’s training programs are developed by teams of industry experts and instructional professionals. This results in quality courses that convey the required information in a manner that facilitates learning. In-services courses provide security professionals with timely and focused training so they can effectively perform their duties.

CA🍁SP is building a repository of foundational and in-service courses to meet the needs of new and experienced security professionals across Canada (and around the world). We encourage industry professionals to partner with us to develop this training and to promote the CA🍁SP.

CA🍁SP has a director and Advisory Committee comprised of industry representatives committed to professionalizing the security industry.
