Professionalism re-enforces learner understanding of the key component of professional in the security industry. The emphasis is on acceptable processes and practices that build trust and respect with the community. This course explores strong and objective material that improves a security professional’s in the security industry. (2 hr)

Ethical Conduct

Ethical Conduct develops learner understanding of the values, purpose, and importance of having integrity in the security industry. Learners explore the negative influences that can affect a security professional’s integrity. Learners explore common organizational policies, procedures, and processes that maintain a security professional’s integrity. (2 hr)

Human Physiology and Psychology

Human Physiology and Psychology is foundational to understanding how a person responds to the stress of a difficult situation. Topics include human physiology, the sympathetic nervous system, the triune brain model, and strategies for engaging with people in different cognitive states. (4 hr)

Situational Awareness

Situational Awareness is your radar for reading the environment, identifying situations, understanding them, and staying safe during them. Cultivating this awareness allows you to make better decisions, prevent and mitigate undesirable activity, and keep yourself and everyone safer in a dynamic environment. (6 hr)

Tactical Communication

Tactical Communication is the use of verbal and nonverbal communication strategies to obtain cooperation or voluntary compliance and de-escalate a situation. To effectively communicate, a security professional must understand human behavior and the mental states of the people they are engaging with. (12 hr)
