Chronicles 4: violence against security professionals

Reporting violence against security professionals that might have been prevented by training and tools.

In March 2025, security guard George Fernandez was working at an apartment building, and observed a package thief. He intervened and was pushed to the ground by the subject. Hitting his head, he suffered life-threatening and was transported to hospital. George died the next day. Amanda AHENAKEW was charged with manslaughter.

Security professionals are literally expected to engage in challenging, dangerous, and litigious situations. They are unprepared in terms of their training, and in the tools they carry. Training could have helped Gernandez deflect the attack.
