Chronicles 9: on-duty deaths

Reporting violence against security professionals that might have been prevented by training and tools.

In November 2016, an unnamed security guard was shot and killed in Harvey, Ill. The security guard worked for Canadian National Railway, and was on patrol when he was approached, shot, and his vehicle stolen. No-one has been arrested or charged with this murder.

Security professionals are expected to engage in challenging, dangerous, and litigious situations. They are unprepared in terms of their training, and in the tools they carry. Training might have helped deflect the attack.
